Fab India is all set reinvent and you will find less of Indian and more of western wear fashion line named Fabels. The design philosophy for the jackets, shirts, trousers (for men and women) and tops and dresses (for women) is courtesy Alistiar Blair who has also worked with high-end labels like Givenchy, Chloe, Valentino and Cerruti.

Alistiar has finalised the first two Fabels lines, and they will be displayed at 30 re-conceptualised Fabindia stores from April onwards. Fabindia plans to have Fabels stores-with-stores in most of its 172 outlets.

Prices for shirts and trousers will start in the Rs1,200-2,000 range. Jackets will start in the Rs3,000-5,000 range.

In an interview Bissell said that changing taste is the first reason for this reinvention. Ethnic wear is becoming limited to special occasions and to an older generation of moneyed customers. Young Indians with purchasing power are flocking to big brands like Zara, Marks and Spencer, Mango etc.

I am not a Fab India fan though but I am excited for see their western wear collection.
