SYMPTOMS:

As you all know the common symptoms of these two diseases include fever lasting for more than three days, extreme weakness, joint pains, brown and red rashes on the body and  low blood platelets count. If you are experiencing any of the above signs, we would advise you take a blood test immediately and consult a doctor.

These diseases are not contagious, but can be transferred if bitten by the aedes aegypti mosquito.

PREVENTION

For precautions we have the following home remedies:

  1. Neem leaves are commonly prescribed for a variety of ailments, and dengue fever is no exception. Steeping neem leaves and then drinking the subsequent brew increases both blood platelet count and white blood cell count.
  2. You can eat Echinacea, an herb that increases immunity.
  3. Include tulsi, aloe vera, giloy, ginger and ashwagandha in your diet to stop these diseases from spreading.
  4. Keep your diet rich in Vitamin C. Have papaya, pineapple, lemon, orange, etc.
  5. Avoid eating non- vegetarian food at this time, as this increases the load on your liver.
  6. Include barley, soups and pomegranate in your diet.
  7. Keep hydrated at all times, fluids are very important for the body to function properly. Have more fruits and coconut water.
  8.  Fenugreek leaves are known to reduce fever and act as a slight sedative to ease pain.
  9. Chewing on basil leaves is an important immune-boosting technique, and has long been recommended in ayurvedic medicine.
  10. Papaya juice is known as a natural cure for dengue fever. The juice of Papaya leaf is a cure for platellete deficiency too.
