People are hitting dislike on Sadak 2 trailer

Alia Bhatt’s Sadak 2 trailer is the most disliked one on Youtube right now:

Yesterday, Trailer of Sadak 2 starring Sanjay Dutt and Alia Bhatt was released and after a few hours, it received a million dislikes on YouTube, and note that dislikes. The trailer of such a big film, especially one that has such big actors, generally gets more likes. Right now there are 5.5M dislikes on the videos. It looks like the internet is boycotting Sadak 2.

Watch the trailer here:

The trailer has a massively unfavorable “like-dislike” ratio.

A campaign was started to make it the most disliked trailer on YouTube days back after actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. It was initiated by fans of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who died by suicide in June. Sushant’s fans have been propagating the conspiracy theory that the actor was ostracised by the film industry, most notably by ‘insiders’, which drove him to suicide.

Twitter reminded everyone that Alia has spoken dismissively about Sushant on Koffee with Karan. Her close relations to filmmaker Karan Johar questions her joining other producers in shutting Sushant out of films. This also triggered a backlash, amid renewed criticism of nepotism and favoritism in the film industry.

Unsurprisingly, Alia Bhatt trended a lot for this reason which states that people can hold a grudge forever. Also, the fact that Sadak 2 is directed by Mahesh Bhatt has contributed to the hate wave. Mr. Bhatt is known to be close to actress Rhea Chakraborty, who is being questioned in the investigation into Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.

So, these are all the reasons because of which people are boycotting the film.

Well, other than dislikes there were memes as well:

Mahesh Bhatt, a few days before the trailer’s release, had shared a message for fans via his elder daughter Pooja Bhatt, who also stars in the film. “Today as we begin the last leg of our journey.I feel unshackled! I carry no burden, no weight. No reputation to hold on to. No mission to accomplish. Nothing to prove to anyone. If the film works it belongs to all of you. If it does not, it’s mine,” he said.

Sadak 2 is a sequel to 1991 hit Sadak, which is also directed by Mahesh Bhatt. In the film, Alia Bhatt stars as a young woman working on exposing a godman will release later this month on Disney+Hotstar. The film also stars Aditya Roy Kapur, Makarand Deshpande, and Gulshan Grover.
