Pratusha Banerjee: The actress who shot to fame for her role as Anandi in Balika Vadhu, allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself inside her flat in suburban Goregaon in western Indian state of Maharastra. Two days later, a case under IPC sections 306 (abetment of suicide), 504, 506 (criminal intimidation), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of IPC was registered against her boyfriend Rahul following a complaint lodged by the actress’s parents.
Sulabha Deshpande: One of the finest actors of Indian theatre and cinema, passed away at her Mumbai residence after a prolonged illness. Deshpande was married to renowned theatre figure, Arvind Deshpande.
Jayalalithaa: Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa passed away in Chennai after she suffered a cardiac arrest . All clinical attempts were made to save the CM failed and she left us.
Razak Khan: Veteran comedian Razak Khan, who was known for his comic roles in the films passed away on June 1 following a massive heart attack.
Rajesh Vivek: The 66 year old actor known mainly known for his roles in superhits like ‘Lagaan’ and ‘Swades’, died due to a heart attack in Hyderabad on January 14.
