On women’s day Delhi police launched all women patrolling squad:

On the eve of International Women’s Day, Delhi police have done something great to make Delhi safer and better for us. They have launched an all women patrolling squad to protect women from crimes and instill a sense of confidence among women.

This initiative has been started to  provide security and comfort to women and girls  and secondly, to motivate policewomen by placing them in a pro-active field of policing!

This woman patrolling squad will have bikes with four riding gear, a gypsy that too with a women police driver and wireless sets, protection team, and firearms. The squad was launched as a road trip from Sarojini Nagar to select city walk mall in Saket.  Many other policemen,  students of Delhi University and famous Rider Roshni Misbah ( Hijabi-biker) also joined them.

All the policewomen and officers have been given special training about maintaining and riding the vehicles, weapon handling, firing and unarmed combat. Also, all the lady officers have been briefed to be  sensitive to the problems of school girls and encourage them to report the miss happenings.

The presence of Women Patrolling Squad in the area will also put a check on the anti-social elements. We must say this is a great imitative by Delhi police and we look forward how this works out for women.
