Your guide to the yummiest club sandwich
A perfect grilled chicken breast, tomato, lettuce, bacon chips, avocado and fried egg, between fresh brown or white toast, or multi grain baguette, with french fries and petite salad can turn your average sandwich into a special treat.
150 gm Bread (any) toasted
80 gm Chicken Breast cooked and cut into thin slices
50 gm Bacon chopped
1 Fried egg
30 gm Tomato cut into thin slices
30 gm Iceberg lettuce cut into julliene
20 gm Mayonnaise Spread
120 gm French fries (we used the ready to fry variety)
Salt to taste
One cherry tomato for garnish
One Ripe avocado, cut into thin slices
30 gm Crispy lettuce
2 gm White pepper powder to taste
1 . Toast the bread slightly in a toaster.
2 . Chop the cooked bacon and mix in a mixing bowl with iceberg lettuce and 1/3 part of mayonnaise.
3. To make the double-decker club: On a clean work surface, arrange 3 bread slices in a row. Spread remaining mayonnaise over 1 side of each bread slice. Place a half bacon mixture on top of the first bread slice and half remaining mixture on second slice top with 2 tomato slices, and season with salt and pepper, to taste. Then place chicken breast slices over the tomatoes and top with avocado (without letting any hang over the sides) . Carefully place the second layered bread slice on top of the first layered bread. Cover with the third bread slice, mayonnaise side-down.
4. Pin the sandwich's layers together by piercing them with 2 bamboo stick through the top bread slice (or toothpicks).
5 Using a serrated knife cut the side of the sandwich then cut it into 2 pieces diagonally (each piece should be secured in the center with a pick sword).
6 . Deep fry the French Fries. Serve with lettuce and french fries on the side.
