Review: The September Anniversary Vellvette box

September Anniversary Vellvette Box
September Anniversary Vellvette Box

Vellvette boxes are now a year old and to celebrate their birthday, Vellvette promised an extra special box this time around. Like previous times the box was replaced with a cute red polka dotted bag which I love. Here’s how my box turned out to be:

How it works: You get a Vellvette Box about the third week of a month after you place your order. I ordered for a three-month cash on delivery membership which is currently up for renewal. While ordering you are supposed to fill an extensive questionnaire about your skin type, love for makeup etc. This helps Vellvette customise the box especially for you.

You can order them online at www.vellvette.com

Claims: According to their fan page, Vellvette is your opportunity to discover the best beauty brands at your doorstep. Receive 3 customized luxury beauty & cosmetics samples every month that are handpicked by our experts for you. Plus if you like a product, you can get fabulous discounts by purchasing the full sized products at Vellvette.com.

Packing: The black box was replaced by a smart red polka dotted bag for the anniversary special and on opening, there was a personal letter detailing the contents of this bag.

Products received: I received a Vellvette compact brush, Organic Surge shine boost shampoo, Beauty UK eyeshadow palette in SOHO and a clear lip gloss by Lord & Berry.

Vellvette compact brush: The perfect thing to carry in your bag. I love the product though the plastic is kind of cheap.

Organic Surge shine boost shampoo: It contains organic products and the shine boost shampoo has organic aloe vera and sea weed to increase the shine of the hair. The shampoo smells citrusy and fresh. I would definitely repurchase this shampoo, as it made my hair feel cleaner and yes there was a slight shine. However you need to use a lot of the product to clean the hair. It is described as a clarifying shampoo and it does make the scalp feel cleaner.

Beauty UK eyeshadow palette in SOHO: The eyeshadow palette made me glee in delight I loved the bright colours and it contains some 10 colours. The palette has vibrant blues, pinks, yellow, orange and purples. It is a fun to use eye palette and i have already started using the pinks and purples. The only downside is that the brush provided with the palette is bad at picking colour, I suggest you use your own brushes.

Lord & Berry Ultimate Gloss in clear: This is a pale lip gloss with sparkles, but the staying power of this gloss is not that great. And the fragrance is not too great.

Pros: The box had two full sized products! It is a value for money bag. There are discount coupons too in case you buy anything from Vellvette’s site. This time I also received a note which you can forward to your friends and they get a discount on joining the site. Vellvette tried hard to make this box a huge success and I am partly happy with my products.

Cons: Not fond of the lip gloss have tried it a couple of times.

Price: INR 1200 for 3 months.

Rating: 4.5/5 (.5 less for Lord & Berry product)
