Hair dyes used by many Indian women to colour or hide greys contains chemicals that have been linked to cancer.

According to British scientists both at home and expensive salon hair colouring pose a potential health risk. According to the study the chemicals in colour can react with air pollutants and form the most powerful cancer-causing compounds ever.

Many other studies have also linked hair dye to a range of cancers, (including breast, bladder, ovaries, brain and leukaemia). However, the cosmetics industry has strongly disputed the claim.

Time to switch back to organic and natural heena hair, we say!
