Follow the sheer style

Show some, hide some; sheer is the latest trend to hit the style street. Many Bollywood celebrities have jumped on this bandwagon. Though this see through look is a difficult one to attain. One wrong step (read too much sheer) and you look trashy!

The top style tip is to avoid making both the upper and lower skimpy and sheer. Make one thing sheer and the other a solid material. So you show some and you hide some!

Match right: Never try to wear bright pink bra under a sheer shirt. It is important to match your undergarments like bras, bralets, and camisoles carefully. Do not go for a bolder or dramatic inner wear. Tip: Wear a classic black slip if you cannot match something.

Colour blocking: If you want to colour block your sheers, buy a silver grey slip or a corset in an opposite colour. You can also wear a gold sequin tube under a white top for instant glamour! Tip: try this for parties or clubbing only.

For sheer bottoms: Pick a sheer palazzo or long skirt. Wear a long camisole or a short skirt inside if you feel it is too sheer. If you want you can wear short shorts inside.  For a quirky look wear solid, bright colored slacks underneath.

Lace: If flowy georgette or crepe tops are too filmy for you. Wear some lace. Simple lace tops or a dress with lace hemming is a good start.

At work: Pulling a sheer look at work requires two basic rules: go subtle and wear a neutral colour palette. Choose a tank top under your sheer shirt and match your lowers (skirt or pants) with the tank.
