October marks the beginning of the autumn season. There is a delicious nip in the air and chill which marks the beginning of winter. Autumn is synonymous with orange-y brown shades, colours like gold, rich browns and dusty oranges are in this season. Much like the colour of leaves during this season. These shades make way for warmer wintery shades.  Indian makeup trends are similar to the international fall makeup trends except ours come with more gold and silver shades, after all it is festive season!

Matte makeup is in vogue this season, so put away your glittery eye shadows and lip glosses and get ready to flaunt a sleek matte look.

Eyes: A smokey grey look with matte grey shadow looks great. If grey is not your colour and you still want a matt look try a brown golden one. Buy Maybelline’s Color Tattoo and if  you don’t want to invest in one, use your finger to rub the gel eyeliner all over your lid for a matte eye shadow look! Also no kohl and vintage eyeliner look is in this season.

Cheeks: Go orange! Buy an orange non-shimmery blusher. You can also use some orange-y eye shadow but go subtle, the idea is to look flushed orange not pumpkin orange! Orange looks beautiful on all skin colours and gives the cheeks a warm flushed appearance.

Lips: Over the past few months many cosmetic houses have launched matte lipsticks (Colorbar, Lotus, Chambor, etc) buy one in dull orange or soft brown. For events pick a loud pretty orange like our current favorite NYX Indie flick. You can also use the  regular lipstick and top it with some compact powder to make it matte. Before apply matte shades make sure your lips are soft and supple.

Nails: Many companies have introduced matte nail colours (Avon, Faces has them) But a smarter way is to invest in a matte topcoat. Inglot has one or you can find it easily online.

Skin: Skin care is a must in Autumn season, make sure you keep your body well hydrated and use moisturizers.
